Persian Rug Cleaning Prague – Specialist Care by BeeClean

Persian Rug Cleaning in Prague – Specialist Care for Handmade and Oriental Rugs

A genuine Persian or Oriental rug is not something you want to entrust to a general carpet cleaner. Hand-knotted wool, silk, or combination rugs have specific requirements that standard hot water extraction machines can damage – colour bleeding, shrinkage, and warp distortion are real risks when the wrong method is applied. BeeClean offers dedicated Persian rug cleaning in Prague, treating each piece individually based on its fibre content, age, and condition.

What Makes Persian Rug Cleaning Different?

Authentic Persian and Oriental rugs are hand-knotted from wool, silk, or cotton with natural or early synthetic dyes that can be highly sensitive to heat, alkaline chemicals, and mechanical agitation. The warp and weft structure is often fragile in older pieces. Getting this wrong means permanent damage that no amount of restoration will fully undo.

Our Approach

Before touching any rug, we run a thorough assessment:

  • Dye stability test – we check every colour zone with a damp white cloth. Any bleeding is noted and we adjust our method accordingly, using fixative treatments where needed
  • Fibre identification – wool, silk, cotton, and synthetic fibres all respond differently to cleaning agents and moisture
  • Condition check – age, previous treatments, existing damage, pile wear

Cleaning is done by hand or with gentle low-pressure extraction using cool or lukewarm water. We use only specialist rug-cleaning solutions – nothing alkaline, nothing aggressive. Drying is done flat to prevent warp distortion.

What About Stains?

Fresh stains from wine, coffee, or food can usually be removed safely if treated promptly. Old set-in stains, especially pet urine that has penetrated the backing, are more complex. We will always give you an honest assessment of what is achievable before proceeding, and we will never try a treatment we are not confident about on a valuable rug.

Pricing

  • Small rug up to 4 m²: from 800 CZK
  • Medium rug 4–10 m²: from 1,500 CZK
  • Large rug over 10 m²: from 150 CZK/m²

Silk rugs and antique pieces are priced individually. We offer a free assessment in person or a ballpark estimate based on photos.

Collection and Delivery

If an in-home clean is not suitable, we can collect and return the rug. It travels rolled in protective wrapping and is handled with care throughout.

Turnaround Time

Standard turnaround is 3–5 working days including drying. Complex or very large pieces may take longer – we will always let you know upfront.
