Tile Impregnation Prague – Floor and Stone Surface Protection

Tile Impregnation in Prague – Protecting Floors and Walls from Dirt and Moisture

Ceramic tiles, natural stone, and concrete surfaces may look tough, but their porosity makes them vulnerable to dirt, oils, water, and mould. Impregnation creates an invisible protective barrier that addresses all these issues. BeeClean provides professional tile and stone impregnation in Prague – for kitchens, bathrooms, hallways, terraces, and commercial facilities.

What Impregnation Is and How It Works

An impregnating agent penetrates deep into the pores of the material, forming a hydrophobic and oleophobic barrier. Liquids bead up on the surface rather than soaking in, dirt stays on top and is far easier to wipe away. Crucially, impregnation does not change the appearance of the surface – tiles and stone retain their natural look, or optionally a wet-look finish can be achieved to enhance texture and colour.

Surface Types We Impregnate

  • Glazed and unglazed ceramic floor and wall tiles
  • Marble, granite, travertine, sandstone slabs
  • Concrete floors and cast concrete surfaces
  • Terrace pavers and outdoor stone areas
  • Grout lines between tiles

Why Impregnate Grout Separately

Grout joints are the most vulnerable part of any tiled surface. The cement or epoxy fill is significantly more porous than the tiles themselves. Impregnating the grout prevents discolouration from moisture and mould growth, keeps joints looking bright for longer, and makes cleaning much easier. We recommend grout impregnation for all newly laid tiles as well as a restorative treatment on older surfaces.

The Impregnation Process

  • Surface cleaning and thorough drying (dirty or damp substrate prevents correct penetration)
  • Selection of the right impregnant for the material type (hydrophobic, oleophobic, or combined)
  • Application by brush, roller, or spray depending on the surface
  • Penetration dwell time allowing the product to soak into the material
  • Wiping away excess from the surface
  • Drying period – full protection active after 24 hours

How Long Impregnation Lasts

Service life depends on the material and traffic level. Typically three to seven years for interior surfaces and one to three years for outdoor areas. We recommend refreshing outdoor impregnation every two years. Using neutral pH cleaning products extends the life of the treatment considerably.

Pricing

From 150 CZK per square metre depending on the impregnant type and surface. Grout impregnation is priced as an add-on. Contact us for a quote based on your specific situation.
